The SCS safety clutches by Colombo Filippetti S.p.A. are torque limiters designed to protect CF3 and CF4 intermittors from overloads and blockages that may occur during the operating cycle in the downstream parts of the mechanism.
The clutches are keyed on the output shaft of the intermittors and transmit torque through a series of balls seated in V-shaped seats, pushed by preloaded cup springs, allowing precise and adjustable intervention. The clutches operate in both rotation directions, automatically releasing the movable flange and activating a microswitch to trigger the motor emergency stop in case of overload. The transmission is automatically re-engaged, restoring the correct phase.
